In Dallas, a city known for its patio weather, March can’t come soon enough each year. Although winter hasn’t completely passed, Dallasites know that the arrival of March means warmer weather is on the horizon. After all, it’s literally 60 degrees outside as I type this. You spent January, undoubtedly, focusing on personal growth–maybe you finally signed up for that gym membership or started eating out less. So why not show your home that same love? After all, your home is where you unwind, eat, sleep and spend time with loved ones. It is, essentially, a reflection of yourself.

What better way to pull yourself out of the winter slump, and to give your home some TLC than to redesign and renovate for Spring?

This Spring, we can look forward to some fantastic home design trends that are stylish and timeless–giving you the refresh you need and lasting for years to come.

1.Terrazzo

Move over marble, this look you may remember from the 1970s is making a major comeback in 2019. Terrazzo is made of marble chippings that have been set into cement, giving the material a colorful, confetti look. It is visually appealing, versatile, and has evolved to blend with modern day homes. You can incorporate Terrazzo into your home by way of flooring, backsplash tile or even in print form as wallpaper.

2. Bold Kitchen Backsplashes

Simple, monochromatic kitchens that have dominated popular design over the last couple of years will be taking a backseat to bolder color choices and graphic tiles (think Terrazzo). The goal–to add more allure and appeal to one of the most popular rooms in the home.

3. Deeper, Darker, Moodier

Color pallets, that is. With whites and brights having commanded the spotlight for so long, it’s only natural that the dark and moody colors have joined forces to burst into the design scene in 2019. Expect to see a lot of emerald and deep teal on walls, as the kitchen island and in furniture fabrics.

4. Artisanal Fixtures

Artesanal fixtures from local artists and small businesses help to personalize your home and are quickly becoming a favorite in the world of interior design. These unique and one-of-a-kind fixtures also lend themselves to the more natural trend we expect to see in 2019, as opposed to the tech-heavy designs we saw so much of in 2018.

5. Brass Decor

Say goodbye to stainless steel and polished nickel, and welcome brass accents into your home. Brass is surprisingly warm and subtle–making it the perfect accompaniment to the richer tones you may be thinking about incorporating.

Incorporating any of these trends into your home is a great way to give your home a fresh look for Spring. The beautiful thing about each of them is that you can make them what you want and adapt them to what best fits your lifestyle. Are you planning to renovate or redesign for Spring? If so, which of these trends are you thinking about incorporating into your home?
